Lawyer: Please state your name.
Huckleberry: My name is Friar Huckleberry. I am a Monk living at the Church of John.
Lawyer: What are your opinions on King John?
Huckleberry: Ah, yes -King John I never knew personally, but he was nice to our church.
Lawyer: Was he actually nice to your church?
Huckleberry: Well, there were a few things he wanted to change, but never tried to take away our church land or our rights.
Lawyer: He kept some promises from the Magna Carta?
Huckleberry: No, he kept all of the promises to the church. Letting us have our land, the right to defend ourselves if we are called in parliament, and our rights.
Lawyer: Did he willingly give you those rights?
Huckleberry: Well…not really since he got captured but still agreed to sign the Magna Carta.
Lawyer: True, but did he intend to keep all of them?
Huckleberry: Well, he kept all of the churches’ rights, but some of the people that come to our church say that the King was trying to take their land away.
Lawyer: Oh really? So he kept his promises to the church but not the peasants?
Huckleberry: Well I don’t know for sure because I’m a Monk.
Lawyer: Do you still think he is upholding his deal with the Magna Carta?
Huckleberry: Yes and No-since he kept his promises to some people but not all people.
Lawyer: Do you think he will continue to do this?
Huckleberry: I think he might, but I’m not sure.
Lawyer: Do you think he is guilty?
Huckleberry: I think he is not guilty.
